Vladimir Janić's photographic work draws the spectator's attention with its sense of visual uncertainty. Firstly, the photographs are laid out on the floor as a tapestry or a rug, arranged so to form a repetitive pattern without a feeling of orientation, a loop. Looking closely at an individual image does not help us in solving the puzzle, the representation remains opaque in its meaning. Some viewers find associations with gentle forms of a female body, while others read in it various abstract shapes and objects reflecting the array of individual subconscious projections. All the attempts to "decode" the meaning of the image are perhaps misleading, driving us further from the essence of the work, which asks for a moment of meditative contemplation rather than intellectual exertion.
